Resilience Index Presentation

Resilience Index Presentation

The Security, Policy and Nationalism research center of the University of Georgia (UGSPN) invites you to the presentation of the research results on the challenge of the malign (Russian) narratives proliferation and disinformation in Georgia and the respective resilience of the Georgian political system, i.e. key political actors.

The topic is as much relevant, as it relates to the danger of state erosion, societal disunity and national security. Consequently, it is critically important that state agencies and other political institutions react timely to prevent and minimize the potential damage caused by the mentioned threat.

The research undertook an extensive analysis of state government (PM-Office, ministries and agencies, parliament and regional/local governance) bodies, and major political parties to identify the relevance of the threat posed by Russian narratives in the current political agenda, the presence of normative and administrative tools to fight the threat, the resource sufficiency, implementation and coordination plans, as well as experience sharing and education.

As a result the Resilience Index (PRI) for the Georgian political system in relation to the threat of  Russian adversarial narratives was generated. PRI can be updated annually and its methodology applied for producing resilience indexes in other areas of state activity (e.g. critical infrastructure, economy etc.)
