Michael Clarke is Visiting Professor of Defence Studies at King’s College London, and the former Director General of the Royal United Services Institute. He has served as a Specialist Advisor to a number of different Parliamentary Committees and various government reviews of security and defence matters. He is currently Defence and Security Analyst at Sky News. His most recent book is Great British Commanders: Leadership, Strategy and Luck (2024).
